Basic Rules For Participation in The Taylor Run 2012

 

  1. A team consists of one vehicle and 2 occupants

  2. Minimum amount to be raised for Meningitis UK is £500 per team

  3. Entry fee is £100 for a standard team (This includes 2 occupants and vehicle ) each additional person is £20 extra

  4. Sat Nav's are banned and not to used

  5. Smart phones are allowed, but the Nav applications are not to be used

  6. Roads with a M designation are not to be used (M1, A1(M) etc)

  7. All vehicles must be in a legal and roadworthy condition

  8. The Taylor Run is not a race, and there are no prizes

  9. Any infringements of the law will result in the forfeit of the deposit and instant disqualification

  10. All vehicles are subject to random check to ensure conformity of the rules

  11. Teams are responsible for their own time and mileage sheets, at the start, and up to the finish, which must be handed in at the finish

  12. If any team is going to be late or miss an overnight stop, a courtesy call must be made to inform the organisers

  13. If a team spots another team in trouble at the side of the road, they must stop to offer assistance

  14. It is not compulsory, but advisable to belong to a roadside assistance organisation (AA/RAC/Green flag or equivalent)

  15. There will be a fine system,- all fines go into a collection bucket* It's basically a fun way to raise extra money as we go

  16. The Taylor Run is self policing, relying on your honesty and integrity to stay within the rules

  17. All participants must be willing to help en-route, whether it be taking around a collection bucket or just chatting to people to raise awareness of what we are doing and why

  18. All participants agree to be part of the group, and be included in any photographs and filming which may be used to advertise The Taylor Run

  19. Each night usually includes drinks, you are responsible for making sure you are legal and safe to drive the following morning- The organisers take no responsibility for your actions, we're all adults

  20. All participants must have fun... Raising money can be fun!!!

  21. This is an ongoing thing, and as the organisation of The Taylor Run moves on, the Rules will be added to or modified as the organisers see fit, so please keep check n this page as this forms part of the agreement to take part in The Taylor Run.

*Fines used last year were 20p for using a certain swear words (raised quite a lot) 50p for spilling drink and other silly rules that generally raise a laugh as well as money
